- Assist the Chief in screening new applicants.
- Reviews and evaluates employees.
- Manages work and shift scheduling as required.
- Plans, coordinates, and maintains effective traffic control operations for normal university operations.
- Plans, coordinates, and maintains an effective parking and traffic control operation for special events.
- Ensures compliance with departmental and university policies and procedures.
- Reviews all reports for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness.
- Investigates offense/incident complaints and determines their course of action.
- Ensures operational information is disseminated accordingly.
- Attends scheduled meetings as a Campus Security and Safety representative, as needed.
- Assumes operational duties during officer shortages, special events, or emergencies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Chief of Security.
- Maintains a proactive and professional relationship with other directors, supervisors, and employees of the university.
- Reflects a positive and professional image of the department.
- Prepares statistics, reports and correspondence to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Identifies areas for improvement and determines solutions to increase and enhance operational effectiveness.
- At times will be required to perform functions and responsibilities that may require physical strength and stamina.
