Position Overview:
Project Generations (PG) is an innovative initiative supported by a five-year grant from the Lilly Endowment—designed to nurture the faith of children (ages 0-12) by equipping churches, empowering parents, and fostering intergenerational worship and prayer experiences. As a Team Member, you will play a vital role in implementing sensory-rich, inclusive, and creative ministry strategies in a variety of church settings. You will help model, teach, and support intergenerational ministry practices that engage children, parents, and congregations in meaningful spiritual formation.
Major Responsibilities:
• Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of sensory-rich intergenerational worship services and immersive experiences at partner churches.
• Participate in the delivery of training sessions for church leaders, parents, and volunteers on topics such as child spiritual development, family faith practices, trauma-informed care, and intergenerational engagement.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with church staff, volunteers, parents, and children in diverse and multicultural settings.
• Create and facilitate programming and events that encourage meaningful interaction among multiple generations, including children of all abilities.
• Serve as a mentor and resource for church volunteers, supporting the implementation of Project Generations principles and best practices.
• Work collaboratively with the Program Director, Team Leaders, and other team members to ensure program goals are met.
• Reflect on program activities and contribute ideas for improvement in regular team meetings.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as maintaining attendance records, preparing materials, and supporting logistics.
Qualifications:
• A strong commitment to the Christian faith—including Assemblies of God doctrines and positions—and to the mission and core values of both Nelson University and Project Generations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Willingness to regularly travel to partner churches and participate in weekend/evening events.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to diverse church environments.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Nelson University and Project Generations.
• Children’s Ministry or Family Ministry Experience within a local church.
• Experience participating in or facilitating activities that bring together multiple generations for worship, learning, or service.
