Position Overview 
The Student Success Support Specialist plays a key role in enhancing student engagement and success through various programs and initiatives. This position supports the Director for Student Success in the coordination of S3 (Student Success Seminar) courses by providing resources to S3 Coaches and managing course materials. The specialist also assists with the Peer Advisor Program by leading recruitment efforts, organizing training sessions, and facilitating communication between Peer Advisors and students. 

Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate degree pathway resources, supporting QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) data reporting, and providing classroom management assistance—serving as an on-call contact for classroom needs and troubleshooting media/technology issues. The role also supports parent engagement efforts by managing the Parent Portal and implementing strategies to foster meaningful parent involvement in student success. 
 
Organizational Relationships 
Reports to and is accountable to the Director for Student Success in those matters relating to Academic Services. Contact atrober@sagu.edu for questions regarding this position. 
 
 
Major Responsibilities: 
  • Support the Director for Student Success in aspects of the S3 courses, including:
  • Providing resources and clear communication to S3 Coaches.
  • Gathering and organizing materials needed for S3 classes.
  • Assist with the Peer Advisor Program, including:
  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Coordinating and conducting interviews for Peer Advisors.
  • Organizing and leading Peer Advisor training sessions.
  • Scheduling Peer Advisors with S3 Coaches and classes.
  • Facilitating activities and communication between Peer Advisors and their assigned students.
  • Update and maintain degree pathway resources to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Contribute to QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) reporting by collecting and compiling necessary data.
  • Provide classroom management support, including:
  • Acting as an "on-call" point person for immediate classroom needs.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving classroom media and technology issues as they arise.
  • Maintain and enhance the Parent Portal to ensure parents have access to accurate and helpful resources.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to strengthen parent engagement, fostering better communication and involvement in student success efforts.
